The first Gibraltar 50p to feature a portrait of King Charles III on the obverse.
The reverse design features a portrait of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II looking right whilst a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III looks left.
The portraits are divided by the crown jewels, St Edward's coronation crown, the Sovereign's sceptre and Sovereign's orb – to represent the transition from one monarch to the next.
At the bottom of the design are sprigs of oak, inspired by the House of Windsor crest – which symbolise strength and longevity.
The inscription that surrounds the design reads, "IT IS MY SINCERE WISH THAT THE COMMONWEALTH WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER STABILITY AND CONTINUITY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS".
