Fluent in more than six million forms of communication, and always ready to tell you odds, the bumbling protocol droid is one of Star Wars' best-loved characters, appearing in every film in the franchise. Programmed for etiquette, not destruction, C-3PO has still managed to save the galaxy on several occasions with the help of counterpart R2D2.
As the epic space saga continues, delighting fans old and new alike, Royal Mail has produced a stamp and medal cover celebrating some of the series' most iconic characters. Royal Mail's striking stamps are accompanied by a specially commissioned Royal Mint medal.
This limited edition cover features a stamp sheet including eight stamps and an information card written by Star Wars expert Simon Beecroft. It features a stunningly detailed schematic plan revealing some of C-3PO's lesser-known components. Each cover contains a Brilliant Uncirculated medal designed exclusively for this product.
The obverse of the medal shows C-3PO standing in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon- the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. The reverse shows him being repaired by his master Luke Skywalker.
The stamps are cancelled by an exclusive handstamp featuring the Star, Glenrothes location, uniquely tying these stamps to the cover.
