The Megalosaurus 50p was the first of three 2020 coins released to mark the discovery of dinosaur bones in the UK by Buckland and Mantell from 1824 to 1833.

Megalosaurus 50p in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin is displayed in an official Royal Mint presentation pack, sealed and protected by a plastic outer wrapper.

Brilliant Uncirculated coins are produced to a higher standard, this 50p shows more detail and has none of the marks and scratches found on circulation coins.

The coin reverse by Robert Nicholls shows a design depicting a Megalosaurus accompanied by the inscription "MEGALOSAURUS" and "BUCKLAND 1824".

The 2020 Megalosaurus 50p won't be found in change, as this design was not struck for circulation. This coin was only available to buy in Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the number sold / mintage is 106,506 coins.
