The Royal Mint's incredibly popular Tower of London £5 Collection continues for 2020!

Each coin in this exciting series is unified by the Norman arched window design and features an exclusive Tower of London Mint Mark, previously seen on the 2019 Collection.

The second coin in the 2020 series has now been released, celebrating one of the more exotic aspects of the Tower’s history — The Royal Menagerie.

The Royal Menagerie

From 13th to mid 19^th century, the Tower of London housed a menagerie of exotic wild animals, never before seen in London, including Elephants, Lions, and even Polar Bears!

At times, visitors to the Tower would have crossed a drawbridge to the Lion Tower, experiencing the terrifying sounds and smells of these strange beasts.

Today this history has been preserved on the UK £5 coin from the Tower of London series, which is now available to add to your collection.

Timothy Noad’s heraldic-inspired design features three lions surrounded by a Norman arched window.

What’s more, this coin will also feature the exclusive Tower of London Mint Mark which can only be found on the Tower of London £5 coins.
