Designed by Antony Dufort, the Britannia £2 coin entered circulation in 2015 to replace the 1997 Technology two pound coin design. Only about 3.5 million of the new definitive Britannia coins were struck for circulation (2015 and 2016). Since 2017 this coin has not been issued for circulation, this will also be the case in 2021.
